Sample Cue Card Answer
I just got back from the most incredible trip to Big Sur, and I'm still reeling from the experience. I'd always seen pictures of those rugged coastlines and towering redwoods, but nothing compares to being there in person. I decided to hike the Ventana Wilderness, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer. The trail was challenging, but the scenery was so breathtaking that I forgot all about the sweat and the sore muscles. At one point, I found myself standing at the edge of a cliff, staring out at the Pacific Ocean, feeling like I was on top of the world.
What struck me most was the silence. I mean, I'm a city girl, so I'm used to the constant hum of traffic and chatter. But out there, it was like the world had been muted. All I could hear was the wind rustling through the trees and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. It was like my own personal soundtrack, and it was incredible. I felt so connected to nature, like I was a part of something much bigger than myself.
As I hiked, I started thinking about how often we get caught up in our daily routines and forget to take a step back and appreciate the beauty around us. We're so glued to our screens, we forget to look up and see the world. But being in Big Sur, surrounded by those ancient trees and that vast ocean, reminded me of what's truly important. It's not about the likes or the followers; it's about experiencing life in all its beauty and complexity. And I'm so grateful to have had that reminder.

What kind of outdoor activities are popular in your country? One outdoor activity that's really popular in the United States is hiking. I think it's because there's just so much natural beauty to explore, from the mountains to the coastlines. I mean, have you ever seen the sun rise over the Grand Canyon? It's breathtaking. But I think what really draws people to outdoor activities like hiking and camping is the sense of adventure and freedom that comes with it. There's something about being in nature that makes you feel alive, you know? Like, you're not just stuck in a routine, you're out there experiencing the world in a new way. And I think that's really appealing to a lot of people.
Are people who like dangerous activities more likely to be successful in life? I don't think it's necessarily about being more likely to be successful, but I do think that people who enjoy taking risks and pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones tend to be more resilient and adaptable. When you're willing to take on new challenges, you learn to navigate uncertainty and overcome obstacles, which are skills that can definitely serve you well in life. Plus, when you're not afraid to take risks, you're more likely to seize opportunities and pursue your passions, which can lead to a more fulfilling life. Of course, there's a fine line between taking calculated risks and being reckless, but I think that's a key part of the learning process.
Do you think it’s better for people to switch jobs every time there’s a new opportunity? I think it really depends on the individual and their goals. On the one hand, switching jobs can be a great way to gain new experiences, build a diverse skillset, and advance your career. But on the other hand, it can also be really destabilizing and make it hard to build momentum. I think what's more important than switching jobs is finding a sense of purpose and meaning in your work. When you're doing something that aligns with your values and passions, you're more likely to be motivated and fulfilled, regardless of whether you're in one job or five. Plus, sometimes it's not about the job itself, but about the opportunities and experiences that come with it. So, I think it's more about being intentional and thoughtful about your career choices, rather than just switching for the sake of switching.
Do you think young people should try as many new activities as possible? Absolutely. I think trying new things is one of the best ways to learn and grow, especially when you're young. When you're exposed to new experiences and activities, you start to develop new interests and passions, and you begin to figure out what you're good at and what you enjoy. Plus, it's a great way to build confidence and develop a sense of self. I think a lot of people get stuck in a rut because they're afraid to try new things, but the truth is that it's okay to not be good at something at first. It's okay to make mistakes and learn from them. And who knows, you might discover a new talent or passion that you never knew you had. So, I think it's really important for young people to be encouraged to try new things and explore their interests, even if it means stepping outside of their comfort zone.
