Sample Cue Card Answer

I've always been fascinated by the idea of visiting the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. Located in the heart of the Middle Eastern desert, Petra is a place of breathtaking beauty and rich history. As I imagine myself walking through the narrow canyon known as the Siq, the towering cliffs rising up on either side of me, I can almost feel the excitement and wonder of discovering a place that's been hidden away for centuries.

The thought of seeing the intricate carvings and monumental architecture of the Treasury building, Al-Khazneh, is exhilarating. I imagine the sound of the wind whistling through the canyon, the sun beating down on my skin, and the smell of sand and stone filling my lungs. It's a place where ancient history meets natural wonder, and I'm drawn to it like a magnet.

As I plan my trip, I'm thinking about the logistics of getting there - the long flights, the desert landscapes, the cultural differences. But I'm also thinking about the people I'll meet, the food I'll eat, and the stories I'll hear. I'm excited to immerse myself in a completely new environment and challenge my own assumptions about the world.

For me, traveling to Petra is about more than just seeing a famous landmark - it's about experiencing a different way of life, learning about a rich history, and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. It's about the thrill of discovery, the rush of adrenaline, and the sense of accomplishment that comes with exploring the unknown.

Sample Part 3 Answers

Where do people in your country like to travel to? In my country, people love to travel to exotic destinations that offer a mix of culture, adventure, and relaxation. One of the most popular places is Bali, Indonesia. I think it's because Bali offers a unique blend of beautiful beaches, temples, and vibrant culture that resonates with many travelers. From the stunning sunrises over the ocean to the delicious local cuisine, there's something for everyone in Bali. Plus, it's relatively affordable and easy to get to, making it an accessible getaway for people looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Do people in your country like to have holidays? Absolutely, people in my country adore taking holidays. I think it's because we work hard and value our downtime. We believe that taking a break from our daily routines is essential to recharge and refocus. Whether it's a quick weekend getaway or a longer, more leisurely vacation, people in my country prioritize their holidays and make the most of their free time. In fact, many of us plan our holidays months in advance, and it's not uncommon for families and friends to take trips together to create lasting memories.

What are the disadvantages of working overtime? One of the significant disadvantages of working overtime is the impact it has on our personal lives. When we work long hours, we often sacrifice time with our loved ones, and our relationships can suffer as a result. I think this is particularly true for people who have families or other commitments outside of work. Overtime can also lead to burnout and decreased productivity in the long run, which can be detrimental to our careers and overall well-being. Furthermore, excessive overtime can lead to physical and mental health problems, such as stress, anxiety, and fatigue.

What kinds of activities do people like to do when they’re on holiday? When people in my country are on holiday, they love to indulge in activities that allow them to unwind and have fun. Many enjoy trying new foods and drinks, exploring local markets and shops, and taking part in outdoor activities like hiking, swimming, or water sports. Some people also enjoy cultural experiences, such as visiting museums, historical landmarks, or attending local festivals and events. I think the key is to do something that brings joy and relaxation, whether that's reading a book on the beach, taking a cooking class, or simply people-watching at a sidewalk café.

Why do some people prefer to stay at home during their holidays? I think some people prefer to stay at home during their holidays because it allows them to recharge and relax in the comfort of their own surroundings. For some, the idea of traveling can be overwhelming, especially if they have young children or pets to consider. Staying at home also means they can save money and avoid the hassle of packing, traveling, and adjusting to new environments. Additionally, some people simply enjoy spending time at home, whether that's catching up on their favorite TV shows, working on a hobby, or hosting friends and family for a BBQ or game night.
