Sample Answers
Do you often use a map? Actually, I don't use maps as much as I used to, since I have a smartphone with GPS. But when I'm in an unfamiliar area or traveling, I definitely use a map to get my bearings and figure out where I am in relation to my destination. It's just easier to visualize the layout of the area and plan my route.
Who taught you how to use a map? My dad taught me how to use a map when I was a kid. He was really into hiking and camping, and he'd take me on these long trips to the mountains. He showed me how to read a map, use a compass, and navigate using landmarks. It was really useful, and it's a skill that's stuck with me to this day.
Do you prefer electronic or paper maps? I'd say I prefer electronic maps, just because they're so convenient and up-to-date. I mean, with Google Maps, I can get real-time traffic updates and find the best route to take. Plus, it's just easier to use my phone's GPS than to carry around a big paper map. That being said, there's something nice about having a physical map, especially when you're in an area with no cell service.
