Frequently Asked Questions.

Here are some things that are good to know. If you have any other questions before you subscribe, I'll be happy to answer them personally.

What amazing benefits do I get with my membership?

Here's what you'll get:

  • A comprehensive IELTS speaking guidebook with advice that most IELTS tutors don't know (or won't tell you). It's free with every membership, and you won't want to miss out on everything it teaches you if you want to do amazingly well on your test. Some of it will contradict the extremely wrong advice you might have found online that's holding you back from the score you want.
  • Part 1 topics that are on the test right now, with sample answers to give you inspiration, as well idioms and phrases you could use during your test to elevate your score.
  • All the current Part 2 Cue Cards so you'll be prepared for even the toughest topics, and won't be lost for words no matter what the examiner asks you.
  • Sample Part 3 questions. Finish your test with a bang, and practice your answers ahead of time .
  • Insider tips about which questions are more likely to be asked than others. There's no guarantee, but examiners tend to favor certain questions. Knowing which ones you should prioritize will help you spend your study time more wisely.
  • Regular updates as the test changes so you're never practicing stale, out-of-date topics that were on the test ten years ago!
Can I share my login credentials with 28 friends and 15 cousins?

Your account is just for you.

I love being able to spread my knowledge and expertise, because I truly want each and every one of you to be successful. However, it takes an unusual amount of time to keep all the materials up to date, so you have access to the most current information. For that reason, please don't share your login credentials.

You can use your account on up to four devices at once, which means you can use it on your work computer, your iPad, your phone, and your home laptop without issues.

Do you offer discounts?

All the time!

I want to make these materials as affordable and accessible to as many people as possible.

What you get is worth every penny because it'll save you so many countless hours preparing, and will mean you won't have to waste an arm and a leg wasting money taking the test over and over. Nobody wants that, right?

How will this site help me prepare for my IELTS speaking test?

By knowing what's on the test right now, you can make the best use of your preparation time.

The IELTS speaking test is particularly difficult, and examiners can ask the strangest of questions, some of which you'll have no idea how to answer.

If you know what's on the test right now, you can prepare for the extremely weird and strange questions that you might struggle to talk about without any kind of preparation.

Even seasoned tutors (and IELTS examiners!) would struggle to easily talk about some of the topics if they had never talked about that subject before, and it's even harder if you're on the other side of exam table, and you're lost for words.

The IELTS exam is expensive and takes a lot of time, so by knowing what you can say — even when the examiner asks the most unusual and difficult questions — you'll never be lost for words.

How often is everything updated? Is it all the time?

Yes. I'm absolutely dedicated to making sure that everything on this site is completely up to date. There are a lot of free resources online that have questions and topics from 2018! That's no good, and that won't help you prepare for your test efficiently.

You probably know that the IELTS test is updated three times a year. When it comes to the speaking test, about one-third of the questions are deleted and replaced. This happens at the beginning of January, May and September.

It takes about 10–15 days after this refresh for the materials to be updated on this site. Often there's early access to the raw questions, and they may appear on the site before this time.

Just a little pro-tip: if you're going to book your test, and you're a member of this site, don't book your test right at the beginning of January, May, or September. You want to give yourself the best chance at knowing what the topics and questions are so you can be prepared for whatever the examiner throws at you!

Is my English good enough? Am I ready?

I'll bet you are!

In my many years of teaching, and many years of preparing candidates for the IELTS spekaing test, I noticed that more than 80% of students think their English is worse than it really is. Often they're so much better than they think, and this probably applies to you too!

Here's a general rule of thumb: if you can read this FAQ page, and could travel to an English-speaking country and be okay, you're ready for a membership here!

If you're an absolute beginner, and can't speak English at all, you're not ready yet for the IELTS speaking test, and shouldn't sign up for a membership here yet.

Do you offer refunds?

Just like you can't get a refund for a delicious cake that you've just eaten, or a Lady Gaga concert you've just attended, you can't get a refund for digital online materials that can't be returned (unlike when you've accidentally ordered too many pairs of shoes).

However, I don't think you'd even want to ask for a refund. The quantity and value of the materials that are going to help you pass your exam faster are worth every penny.

Can I cancel?

Yes, please!

I don't want you to be a member forever. I want you to pass your IELTS speaking test with flying colors the first time, and then cancel your membership.

The materials here are so good you won't need to be a member for a long time. I haven't done my job right if you keep your subscription for too long, so please cancel as quickly as you can!

Of course, I want to hear about your success! Nothing makes me happier than knowing that each and every one of you have gotten the score you want, and have moved on with your goals and your life.

It's my absolute pleasure to say goodbye once you've passed your test because that way I know you've gotten every penny out of your membership!

Can I book one-on-one classes with you?

I can sometimes offer one-on-one virtual classes, and work best with intermediate to advanced students. It's during these classes that I can help you practice for the speaking test, giving you tons of corrections along the way. Hit the "contact" link at the top of the page if you'd like to book a class with me.
